I would like to give invites to Malaysians especially the tech savvy ones so that it’ll help seeding Malaysian news on Vine. Newsvine is a social-bookmarking/tagging website (think:digg, flickr, del.icio.us) but also unique in a way that it is different from any web2.0 sites currently available. It’s still in beta and invites are required. Personally, after a day of using it, I love the easy tagging method, great news, and just to be part of the pioneer testers community of newsvine.

It’s not as good as Kinokinuya or MPH but nonetheless Popular is moving in the right direction with it’s first bookstore under the name Harris. There are definitely more english books than the normal Popular bookstore.

The new shopping mall, Tebrau City which was opened to the public on the 4th January 2006 is located near Taman Mount Austin, Desa Tebrau, and next to Hospital Sultan Ismail. The main tenant is Jusco as the mall is owned by Aeon. Unlike the other two Juscos in Johor, Tebrau City is huge with more focus on other tenants including big ones such as TGV cinema (it was still under construction on the opening day), Harris bookstore which is a new concept bookstore from Popular and all major brands such as Timberland, Nike, Guess, MNG, Levi’s, Dorothy Perkinds, Espirit, G2000, Quicksilver, Calvin Klein Jeans, Topshop (UK), British India, Dockers, Elle, U2, Hush Puppies, Reject Shop, Fila, Padini, Giordano, and Yishion (it’s not Japanese but rather Chinese company). There’s over 30 food and beverage outlets. Personally, I think the reason why Popular is opening a bookstore under the name Harris is to change its image to a more modern feel like MPH and Kinokuniya partly to cater for Singaporean shoppers. The bookstore is huge which is welcoming as there are no huge bookstore in Johor yet. The mall consist of three levels and 3′800 parking bays are provided.
How to get there? From the Skudai Highway, take the Pasir Gudang highway, then exit to Tebrau Highway (the exit that you take to go to Kota Tinggi) and you wont miss Tebrau City, look on your left.

Carissa Gaghans trying her best not to cry as her family was eliminated.
I’ve just finished watching the final episode of the Amazing Race (get the torrent here: http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=amazing+race ).The family edition was heavily criticized for only racing around the States most of the time. However, I thought it was a great race overall especially seeing family members supporting one another and at other times fighting with one another. Early on, I wanted the Gaghans to win, though I’m just as happy that the Linzes won. Here’s my top 10 moments of the season 8 race:
1. Lauren Bransen “mooning ass’ to the Linzes eventhough the “moon” was actually censored.
2. Tony Paolo carrying the banana on his shoulder while his sons are finding it difficult to the same. Tony singlehandedly won the leg for his family.
3. The Paolos’ sportsmanship in telling the Bransens not to step on the mat, but get their clothes on. They looked ridiculous with all the clothes on.
4. Carissa Gaghan trying with all her might to fight back the tears at her family’s elimination. Carissa was the cutest on the Race. Her mum was close second
5. In Costa Rica, when the Gaghans knew they were going to the mat in last place, Dad and son walked hand in hand admiring the beautiful scenery and the son asked his Dad if they could come back someday.
6. Everything the Gaghans did.
7. Nick Linz doing the flips on ski. It was spectacular.
8. Wally and the girls lurving each other at the final mat. And Meghan Linz crying at the final mat.
9. Tony Paolo saying he loved Marion and that she was his babe or something like that. And DJ saying he was proud of his mom.
10.The final puzzle between Alex and Wally for the one millian dollar.

A friend of mine from Kuittho wanted to find books which weren’t available at Kuittho’s library, so I took him to UTM’s library. Since it’s holiday and not many people were around, I took the opportunity to take some interesting pictures. By the way, I wasn’t studying, more like acting. In the end, we borrowed 10 books including topics on soccer tactics, how to play tennis, html, xhtml, css, php, and interior designs.

The power adapter for the Gigabyte wifi router got overheated and finally burnt. Bought a universal adapter to replace it which also overheated and burnt.
So I bought a new Linksys wifi router. The adapter overheated after one night. Now, I’m using a universal adapter with 12V and 1A.
Please leave your comments if you know why this is happening. I’m totally clueless. In total 3 power apater got overheated.

I went to the PC Fair in City Square this afternoon. It took 15 minutes to get the car parked. There was too many cars. SomeĀ just let their friends/family visit the fair while the driver waited in the car.
From my observation the gadgets that are most exhibited (not popular as I do not know how many are sold) are:
- MP4 Player with small screen
- CDR/DVDR
- Speakers
- Printers
The MP4 player is something new this year, and most booth have some kind of MP4 player on show.
